On December 6, ALB held its China Regional Law Awards 2024: South China & Central China ceremony in Shenzhen. JunHe won the “Debt Market Deal of the Year: South China & Central China” award, and JunHe partner ZHANG, Ping (Pete) who practices at the firm’s Guangzhou office was recognized as the Managing Partner of the Year: South China & Central China. JunHe partners LIN, Jiayu (Paul), YU, Su and ZHANG, Yuqing attended the awards ceremony.
JunHe’s profound expertise and strength in the capital markets have once again been demonstrated by the recognition. China Construction Bank’s overseas issuance of USD 1 billion green bonds and RMB 2 billion offshore blue bonds was recognized as the Debt Market Deal of the Year: South China & Central China. JunHe acted as the PRC legal counsel to the issuer. The initial price guidance for the Hong Kong Branch's green bonds narrowed by 50 basis points from SOFR+105 bps to SOFR+55 bps, while the London branch’s blue bonds decreased from 3.35% to 2.83%, both achieving oversubscription. YU, Yongqiang (YY) and SUN, Fengmin led the JunHe team.
Mr. ZHANG, Ping (Pete) was named as Managing Partner of the Year: South China & Central China-Non-local for his top performance in the capital markets and his in-depth understanding and innovative approach to law firm management. He has demonstrated solid expertise and prudent decision-making in his practice in capital markets and has led his team to complete multiple high-profile and complex projects. Additionally, Mr. Zhang has actively embraced AI technology, positioning the firm at the forefront of the legal industry's application of AI technology. He has conducted valuable experimentation in the compliant use of AI products within the legal profession. These efforts include studying and formulating rules of AI usage, testing AI products, and organizing collaborative development of AI and automation tools. Under his leadership, the firm's IT team collaborated with external partners to develop an automatic document desensitization system, which has become an essential tool for ensuring data security when lawyers use AI products. The self-developed bidding and quotation system has significantly improved the efficiency of preparing bid documents and quotation files for the law firm. Whether navigating the capital markets or advancing the digital transformation of the law firm, Mr. Zhang consistently maintains professionalism and innovation.
