On March 28, 2024, China Business Law Journal unveiled its A-List 2023-24: Rising Stars. Four partners from JunHe were recognized: BU, Yimu, FENG, Cheng, ZHAO, Huili (Vicky) and ZHENG, Ziwei (listed alphabetically by last name).


BU, Yimu

Practice areas: Labor and employment


Mr. Bu navigates a diverse array of labor and employment matters for his clients, encompassing both dispute and non-dispute scenarios. Possessing in-depth and distinctive expertise in labor law, he offers invaluable insights to his clients. Mr. Bu boasts extensive frontline experience in areas such as employee redundancy and settlements, labor unions, and collective bargaining. He collaborates closely with JunHe's interdisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive and meticulous one-stop legal solutions to his clients. His dedication and professionalism have fostered trust among his clients and earned him acclaim from many professional directories and publishers. Mr. Bu has advised clients in numerous high-profile employment cases in China, including but not limited to China's first collective contract dispute filed by a grassroots labor union against a company, as well as organizational restructuring and employee settlement projects for many well-known Chinese enterprises.


FENG, Cheng

Practice areas: Capital markets; Banking & finance; Corporate & M&A; Assets securitization


Mr. Feng specializes in corporate restructuring, reorganization, domestic and off-shore IPOs, various types of securities offerings and debt financing, strategic investments, and M&A activities involving listed companies. He is experienced in the establishment, issuance, investment, and operation of private equity funds, trust plans, and asset-backed securities. Mr. Feng has represented banks and other financial institutions in capital operation projects and has offered legal counsel regarding the formation, merger, acquisition, securities issuance, domestic and off-shore IPOs, and refinancing of numerous commercial banks. He has played a pivotal role in the reform and risk mitigation of many small and medium-sized financial institutions. Mr. Feng is renowned for his profound legal acumen, exceptional professionalism, and his rigorous and pragmatic approach to work. He has extensive experience in resolving complex issues and handling emergencies. 


ZHAO, Huili (Vicky)

Practice areas: Dispute resolution; Compliance


Ms. Zhao administered over 100 international commercial arbitrations at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC). Her expertise lies in complex cross-border dispute resolution, and she is familiar with the arbitration rules of both domestic and foreign arbitration institutions, as well as various ad hoc arbitration rules. Ms. Zhao serves as an adjunct professor at China University of Political Science and Law and is a part-time mentor of the "International Lawyer Training Programme". Her outstanding contributions have earned her recognition as an “Up and Coming” lawyer in the field of arbitration by both Chambers Global and Greater China. She has also been recognised as a “Next Generation Partner” by the Legal 500, and a “Future Star” in International Arbitration by the Benchmark Litigation China. Being named on the "A-List 2023-24: Rising Stars" by China Business Law Journal is a notable highlight in her career.


ZHENG, Ziwei

Practice areas: Capital market; Corporate and M&A; Telecommunication, Information Technology and Hi-Tech


Dr. Zheng specializes in corporate governance. Since 2014, his practice areas have included general corporate affairs in foreign and domestic enterprises, FDls, ODls, fund formation, M&A, PE/VC investment, domestic and off-shore IPOs, trusts and ABS business. He offers legal representation and services to a diverse array of international and domestic corporations and investment funds, facilitating domestic and overseas investment and financing, mergers and acquisitions, and domestic and offshore IPOs across various sectors, such as bio-pharmaceuticals, medical devices, new energy vehicles, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors and TMT. Dr. Zheng has garnered appreciation from clients and gained favor in the market for his exceptional professional abilities and outstanding talent.


To celebrate the outstanding performance of elite lawyers over the past year, the China Business Law Journal has expanded The A-List by introducing three distinct categories this year: Visionaries, Growth Drivers and Rising Stars. The Rising Stars include 100 lawyers aged 40 and under who are practising Chinese law, as well as 20 lawyers from foreign law firms or who are working overseas.
