Five JunHe Partners Named on CBLJ’s A-List 2023-24: The Growth Drivers

On January 17, 2024, China Business Law Journal (“CBLJ”) announced its A-List 2023-24: The Growth Drivers. Five JunHe partners were named on the list: Chen Wei, Sun Bo, Tang Weiyang, Yang Li and Zhang Ying (in alphabetical order by surname).


CHEN, Wei 

Practice Areas: Corporate and M&A; Private Equity/Venture Capital; Banking and Finance


Ms. Chen specializes in M&As, private equity investment and financial management, and has performed exceptionally in capital markets and domestic and overseas listings. With more than 20 years’ practice, Ms. Chen has provided expertise in fields involving telecommunications and high-tech, information infrastructure, energy, finance, life science and other industries, and has assisted domestic and foreign clients in a number of high-profile deals. She was one of the first lawyers in China to practice in information infrastructure investment and M&As and has advised clients on their investment in or acquisition of many new infrastructure projects. With her profound legal knowledge and industry-leading expertise, Ms. Chen has been named on CBLJ’s A-List several times and recognized as one of Thomson Reuters “Stand-out Lawyers”.


SUN, Bo (Carol Sun)

Practice Areas: Government Enforcement & Investigations; Regulatory Compliance; Data Privacy, Cybersecurity and Information Law


Ms. Sun specializes in government enforcement and investigations, personal information protection and data security, and has practiced law for more than 15 years. She is a pioneer in cross-border compliance and data protection practices in China. Ms. Sun is also one of the few lawyers who helps clients consider and comply with China’s data security requirements in complex cross-border government enforcement and investigations and provides pragmatic solutions. She has been ranked many times by Chambers Greater China Region and was the only Chinese woman in 2019 to be named by Global Data Review in their Women in Data awards. 


TANG, Weiyang (David)

Practice Areas: International Trade; Regulatory Compliance


Mr. Tang has many years of experience in trade sanctions, export control, anti-dumping and anti-subsidy, customs, Section 337 investigations, and corporate compliance investigations. He is one of the few practitioners in China with a deep understanding and extensive experience in economic sanctions and export controls. With more than 20 years’ practice, Mr. Tang has developed unique capabilities to conduct investigations and analysis. Since 2012, he has been recognized in consecutive years as a Leading Individual in the field of international trade by Chambers & Partners. Mr. Tang is committed to providing comprehensive legal support for his clients and helping them succeed in international trade.


YANG, Li

Practice Areas: Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Liquidation; Corporate and M&A


Dr. Yang is a bankruptcy and reorganization expert and is the head of the firm’s bankruptcy and reorganization group. He has handled a number of high-profile cases, which have been included in the work reports of the Supreme People’s Court and provincial High People’s Courts or recognized as typical cases. Dr. Yang participates in research on bankruptcy law related topics and contributes to the improvement of bankruptcy law in China. With outstanding expertise and persistent research, Dr. Yang has been ranked many times by Chambers Great China Region, IFLR 1000, CBLJ and other internationally recognized legal directories.


ZHANG, Ying

Practice Areas: Corporate and M&A; Cross-border Investment; Complex Commercial Transactions


Ms. Zhang has practiced law for more than 20 years, and has been involved in a number of cross-border M&A deals and a variety of inbound and outbound investment, financing or restructuring projects. She has advised on projects in the fields of TMT, real estate, advanced manufacturing and other industrial sectors, and provided legal support for all kinds of enterprises in complex commercial transactions. With her solid expertise and extensive experience, Ms. Zhang has been recognized on The A-List by CBLJ and ranked by Chambers and Partners in the field of M&A many times and was recognized as one of the 2023 Top 15 TMT Lawyers by  Asian Legal Business (ALB).


This year, CBLJ granted The A-List awards in three categories: The Visionaries, The Growth Drivers and Rising Stars. The winners were nominated by Chinese and global in-house counsel, executives and senior lawyers, and reflect the gradual maturity and development of the market.
