Mr. Chen Yuwei specializes in financial and securities dispute resolution, cross-border commercial litigation/arbitration, international investment arbitration, and criminal and civil interaction cases, as well as civil and commercial dispute resolution relating to corporate shares, construction, leasing, and sale of goods.
He has extensive experience in financial and securities dispute resolution and has represented numerous domestic and foreign clients in financial dispute resolution cases with target amounts exceeding RMB 10 billion. Mr. Chen represented the client and won the largest case ever heard by the Shanghai Financial Court since its establishment in terms of the target amount and participated in and won the first demonstration case relating to a massive financial dispute in the Shanghai Hongkou District People’s Court. Mr. Chen has represented complex matters concerning centralized jurisdictions designated by the Supreme Court, which have involved major influential central enterprises, state-owned enterprises and large local enterprise groups.
One of Mr. Chen’s cases was listed in the “Deals of the Year 2021” report by China Business Law Journal, and another was listed in the Top Ten Financial and Commercial Trial Cases of Shanghai Court 2020 by the Shanghai Municipal Higher People’s Court and one of the Top Ten Typical Cases of Shanghai Financial Court in 2020.
Mr. Chen has extensive experience in cross-border commercial litigation/arbitration and international investment dispute resolution. As well as handling common foreign related arbitration and litigation cases, he has experience in dealing with and participating as counsel in ICC and HKIAC international arbitration cases. Mr. Chen has helped clients to issue legal opinions and coordinated with foreign lawyers regarding disputes in overseas investments. He has also advised investors and local governments regarding options and solutions for international investment arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Chen excels in dispute resolution and has impressed clients with his ability to quickly identify the core issues in complex disputes to provide targeted solutions and recommendations.
