Philip Kwok Partner

Professional Experience

Philip Kwok is a Partner of JunHe’s Hong Kong Office.  His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation and arbitration, regulatory investigations, cybersecurity and data protection, financial technology compliance, electronic data preservation and retention, as well as disputes and regulatory matters for intellectual property, internet and e-commerce businesses.  He often appears in Hong Kong courts, arbitration hearings, interviews with regulatory authorities, as well as cooperating with PRC lawyers in PRC hearings, trials and enforcement proceedings.


Philip has practised as an international disputes resolution lawyer for nearly 18 years, including in the Hong Kong and Beijing offices of international law firms as well as in one of the Big 4’s Global Law Network.  He is familiar with the legal environments in Hong Kong, Mainland China, the United States and other jurisdictions.


In addition to his practice achievements, Philip is also the first batch graduate from the E-Commerce Law stream of the Juris Master degree of Peking University, when he participated in various research projects on e-commerce regulatory matters commissioned by the PRC Ministry of Commerce and the National People’s Congress Finance and Economic Committee. He is currently a Member of the InnoTech Committee and the Privacy and Data Law Committee of the Law Society of Hong Kong. He is also a Lecturer (Non-Clinical) of the Faculty of Law, the University of Hong Kong, responsible for the China Information Technology and Electronic Commerce Law course for primarily Master of Laws and Juris Doctor students for over 7 consecutive years. Lately, he is also responsible for editing the 2024 edition of Halsbury’s Laws of Hong Kong on Information Privacy and Confidentiality.


Philip is also among the first batch of lawyers who successfully passed the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Legal Professional Examination and the England and Wales Solicitors Qualifying Examination.
