Mr. David Gu joined JunHe in November 2021 and his practice focuses on commercial arbitration and cross-border dispute resolution. He has represented large Chinese SoEs and multinational corporations in both domestic and international arbitration proceedings conducted in various venues under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, SCC, CIETAC and BAC.
Mr. Gu has extensive experience in dealing with disputes covering a wide range of subject matters, including but not limited to international trade transactions, technology licenses and confidentiality agreements, Sino-foreign joint ventures, share transfers, M&A transactions, public infrastructure and construction projects and innovative derivative financial products. He has experience in making arguments and conducting cross-examinations in the English language in international arbitration proceedings.
Mr. Gu also has extensive experience in dealing with arbitration-related litigation, including but not limited to representing Chinese and foreign clients in recognition and enforcement proceedings of foreign arbitral awards or foreign court judgments, as well as the application of interim measures in the aid of arbitrations seated in Hong Kong SAR. He has dealt with cross-border litigation and assisted and managed foreign lawyers in cross-border civil and commercial disputes before courts in various jurisdictions (e.g., England & Wales, United States, Italy, Germany, France, Singapore, Hong Kong, BVI, Cayman Islands, Mongolia). He has also provided legal advice on complex compliance issues to Chinese government agencies and business entities, both domestic and international.
