Ms. Lijing Du joined JunHe in 2012 and has since been practicing at the firm’s Beijing Head Office. She is a well-seasoned transactional lawyer with over a decade of experience advising on intricate projects across the energy, power, oil and gas, chemicals, transport, infrastructure, as well as public utilities and public-private partnership (PPP) projects. Her practice spans a broad range of inbound and outbound investments, including greenfield development, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and municipal utility concessions.
In cross-border matters, Ms. Du has acted for leading developers, contractors, banks, and insurance companies on high-value infrastructure and energy projects under China’s Belt and Road Initiative. She has provided legal support across the full lifecycle of these projects, covering investment, financing, construction, and operation, in regions such as Southeast Asia, South Asia, Middle Asia, Middle East, Europe, Africa, and Latin America.
On the domestic front, Ms. Du advises both foreign investors and Chinese enterprises on a wide spectrum of transactional, regulatory, and corporate issues. Her project work covers conventional and renewable power generation, including oil and gas, wind, solar, hydro, nuclear, biomass, cogeneration, and seawater desalination, as well as infrastructure projects such as district heating, water supply, wastewater treatment, and integrated utilities. She also advises on regulatory compliance, including licensing and permitting, environmental and safety regulation, public procurement, antitrust, and national security review. In addition, she handles complex corporate matters involving foreign direct investment, such as entity establishment, equity transactions, recapitalizations, restructuring, and dissolutions.
Ms. Du is particularly recognized for her leadership in managing large-scale project teams and her expertise in drafting and negotiating bilingual transactional documents. She has led numerous landmark transactions featuring innovative structures, multi-jurisdictional aspects, and industry-wide impact. A number of deals she participated in have been recognized as “Deals of the Year” by Asian Legal Business (ALB) and China Business Law Journal.
