Mr. Chen practices at the Shanghai office of JunHe and has over 15 years of extensive legal experience, primarily in the areas of dispute resolution, compliance investigation, and white-collar crime.
Mr. Chen represents well-known domestic and international corporate clients in handling numerous complex foreign-related civil, commercial, criminal litigation and commercial arbitration cases in courts across China and arbitral institutions both domestically and internationally (including cases where English is the language of arbitration). His practice areas cover commercial leasing, construction projects, distribution/sales, product liability, anti-unfair competition, intellectual property protection, financial borrowing, corporate governance, equity investment, labor employment, consumer disputes, and more.
Additionally, Mr. Chen has represented various multinational companies in managing their compliance matters, including conducting internal compliance investigations, cooperating with and responding to various government departments such as market administration authorities, customs, tax bureaus, and national security agencies in administrative and criminal investigations (including but not limited to antitrust, anti-corruption, anti-unfair competition, data compliance, consumer rights protection, etc.), managing legal affairs related to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), providing compliance training to clients, conducting compliance reviews of clients' businesses, and establishing comprehensive compliance systems for clients. He often assists clients in presenting legal expert opinions on Chinese law issues in foreign courts and arbitral institutions.
Mr. Chen also focuses on handling criminal cases in the commercial sector, participating in the criminal prosecution and defense in many cases involving commercial bribery, financial crimes, false invoicing, and food safety issues, achieving positive results in these matters.
Before joining JunHe, Mr. Chen worked as a prosecutor in the Second Branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate, dealing with criminal prosecutorial cases that could lead to life imprisonment or more severe penalties, as well as civil and commercial appeals.
