Ms. Zheng has been practicing Inbound and Outbound Dispute Resolution for 26 years. She worked in the Beijing Office of Jones Day for 7 years. As lead counsel and a team leader at Jones Day, Ms. Zheng represented both Chinese and international clients and successfully handled complex disputes inside and outside of China. Before joining Jones Day, she served in the Beijing First Intermediate People’s Court for 9 years, hearing more than 600 civil and commercial cases as a third-level judge and 800 cases as a clerk in a number of different areas. Ms. Zheng has also shadowed several English Judges as a representative of a PRC Judge at the Royal Courts of Justice in London and worked in the London Office of Eversheds Law Firm in 2005.
Ms. Zheng is Arbitrator at CIETAC, SHAC, SCIA, HKIAC, Part-time professor and graduate student instructor at Law School and Lawyer School of Renmin University, and Steering Group Member of ABA China Committee, Section of International Law; and IBA Officer of Anti-Corruption Committee. In 2020, Ms. Zheng was listed in the talent pool of Foreign-related lawyers by Beijing Lawyers Association.
Ms. Zheng specializes in dealing with a wide variety of complex civil and commercial disputes within or outside of China, and her experience mainly covers the areas of international trade, contracts, anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition, foreign investment, infringement of reputation and other complicated civil and commercial matters, administrative investigation, and white-collar criminal defense, administrative investigation and most of the subject value is over RMB 100 million.
Ms. Zheng was named ALB China 2017 Top 15 Litigators, the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2019 Recommended Dispute Resolution Lawyer, 2021, 2022 and 2023 Benchmark China Star Litigator, and the Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2022 Recommended Litigation and Arbitration Lawyer.
Ms. Zheng received an LL.B. Degree in 1997 from China University of Political Science and Law. She obtained an LL.M. Degree and Ph.D. Degree in Civil and Commercial Law from Peking University in 2002 and 2009 respectively. Ms. Zheng also received an M.A. Degree with distinction in International Comparative Law from the University of London in 2005.
