Mr. Zheng joined JunHe in 2014. He commenced his legal practice in 1999 at a local law firm in Guangzhou, where he worked for five years and developed extensive experience in corporate and business-related dispute resolution. In 2003 he was one of the two selected lawyers for the ‘Chinese Young Lawyer Training Program in France’ and won a French government scholarship to attend a professional training program at EFB, the Paris Bar School. In 2004, he joined the renowned international law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel (Gide), and was based in their Paris and Beijing offices. He was made a partner at Gide in March 2011, and managed its Beijing office as co-head.
Zheng Yu provided legal services to many leading multinational companies regarding their business and investment projects in China. He has significant expertise and experience advising investors on complex foreign direct investments, cross-border M&A, dispute resolution (arbitration and litigation), corporate compliance, employment issues and tourism real estate projects in China. His sector experience includes energy, construction, infrastructure, environmental protection, manufacturing, automobiles, international trade, financial services, insurance, pharmaceuticals, food safety and tourism.
The Chambers Asia Pacific journal recommended Zheng Yu as a leading lawyer in dispute resolution (2013, 2014 and 2015 editions), and Asia Pacific Legal 500 also recognized him as a leading lawyer in the areas of real estate and dispute resolution (2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 editions) and the area of corporate and M&A (2019 edition). Zheng Yu is also the winner of the ALB China Top 20 Client Choice Lawyer in 2017, 2018 and 2019.
