Mr. Zhou has extensive experience in banking and finance, private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions of listed companies. He has actively represented a number of international companies and banks in structuring, negotiation, and documentation in many finance and investment projects. In recent years, he has acted for international and domestic financial institutions and private equity investors on many going-private transactions of US listed companies, and also advised private equity houses on their investments in TMT, real estate, education and health care sectors.
The representative transactions advised by Mr. Zhou include: Giant Interactive Group take-private transaction, E-House China Holdings take-private transaction, Idream Technology Limited take-private transaction, Goldman Sachs’ investment in a leading online literary company, Carlyle Real Estate Partner’s investment in PRC retail assets, Citi Bank’s investment in SPDB, HSBC’s investment in Bank of Communication, the IPO of Spring REIT and the IPO of Haichang Group.
He has been ranked as a leading lawyer in the Banking & Finance area by Chambers & Partners from 2012 to 2016. Also, Mr. Zhou has been ranked as a Ranked Lawyer in the Banking & Finance area by Chambers & Partners in 2019.
Mr. Zhou earned his LL.B. and LL.M. from East China University of Politics and Law.
Mr. Zhou is a member of the All-China Bar Association and the Shanghai Bar Association.
