Mr. Chen is based in our Shanghai office, and his practice areas include dispute resolution, competition and regulatory compliance.
Mr. Chen has represented many well-known domestic and foreign clients in numerous complex foreign-related civil, commercial and criminal litigations before PRC courts in different provinces, as well as commercial arbitration cases in domestic and foreign arbitration commissions (including cases tried in the English language). These cases cover a wide range of practice areas including real estate, construction, international sales of goods, product liability, anti-unfair competition, and intellectual property.
Mr. Chen has represented many international clients in handling their compliance matters, such as conducting internal investigations, dealing with administrative investigations of governmental authorities (including anti-trust, anti-unfair competition and consumer protection), advising on US FCPA-related matters, providing compliance training and conducting compliance reviews on businesses. He has also assisted clients by giving legal expert opinion on Chinese legal issues in foreign courts.
Before joining JunHe, Mr. Chen worked as a prosecutor in the public prosecution division and civil administrative division, respectively, of the Second Branch of the Shanghai People's Procuratorate. As a prosecutor he was responsible for felony cases in which defendants potentially faced a sentence of life imprisonment or greater, as well as civil and commercial protest cases.
