JunHe warmly welcomes the prominent Corporate/Cross-border M&A lawyer, Ms. Zhang Hong who joined our Beijing and Shanghai offices on November 2, 2020. Ms. Zhang specializes in complex cross-border M&A and corporate restructuring in and outside China.
Ms. Zhang obtained her Bachelor of Law degree at East China University of Political Science and her Master of Laws degree with honors at Columbia Law School. She has over 16 years of experience in corporate affairs. Prior to joining JunHe, Ms. Zhang was a corporate partner at Clifford Chance's China office. Ms. Zhang focuses on domestic and overseas cross-border M&A and related legal issues (including complicated PE and VC investment and financing, restructuring involving in dismantling or reconnecting ‘red-chip’ structure, pre-IPO equity financing and employee incentives for various types of corporations), as well as the strategic cooperation of joint venture business. She has accumulated extensive experience and unique insight across a wide range of sectors such as TMT, Fintech, healthcare, real estate, financial institutions, High Tech and high-end manufacturing.
At her previous firm, Ms. Zhang acted as the lead partner advising quite a few Chinese companies in high-profile overseas M&A, and assisted prominent international PE firms’ large M&A and equity investments in the Greater China and Asia region. She is particularly skillful in advising clients on complicated cross-border transactions and providing input with high commercial value. Ms. Zhang also focuses on advising large multinational companies on M&A and restructuring issues in China and Asian region, as well as acting as perennial legal counsel for several large Chinese state-owned enterprises (including government-controlled investment companies).
Ms. Zhang has been selected as a “Next Generation Lawyer” in both China Corporate and M&A and Private Equity/Venture Capital practices by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific 2018 & 2019, and a “Rising Star” in China Corporate and M&A as well as a “Next Generation Partner” in Private Equity in 2020.
